What we collect, why, and what we will never do with it.

What we collect

The details you give us when applying, the activity you generate inside the platform, and the pull requests and reviews connected to your work. On this public site we record which marketing campaign brought you here, using our own storage in your browser rather than a third-party tracker.

What we do not do

We do not run third-party tracking on signed-in pages. We do not sell personal data. We do not store your source code beyond what a specific review needs, and that is discarded after the review runs.

Your work stays yours

Contributions happen on your own GitHub account. Your history is yours, it stays visible to you, and it does not disappear if you leave.

Private notes

Mentors keep notes to do their job well. Anything recorded about how you work and shown as evidence is something you can read. Notes that are not shown to you are never used to make a decision about you without your knowing the reason.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for your account and personal data to be deleted. Write to us and a person will answer.

This page is not final

Barmaj has not launched. This describes how the platform is built and how we intend to operate. The binding privacy notice will be published, and reviewed by a lawyer, before anyone is asked to pay anything or share personal data with us.
